Distance education, open learning, flexible learning, blended learning ... as the buzzwords have come and gone, Wordwrights have continued to help clients to design and develop large courses, drawing on three decades of experience that started with ten years in charge of Ireland's first distance learning degree course.

Since then, we've helped universities and other third-level institutions, professional associations, large employers, development agencies and industry bodies to educate students, members, staff and clients. We've worked on everything from short self-study packs up to four-year part-time bachelors degrees and two-year part-time masters degrees; we've also advised academics and PhD students in several universities on their writing styles, structures and skills. We have much experience in developing courses for people at work.

Many of the courses we've worked on have used large amounts of written material, but we've always believed in mixing methods. We have therefore provided for other learning opportunities, including classroom sessions, peer-group teaching, guided reading, student–teacher and student–student interaction, computer-based training and both audio and video.
